My best friend has died And has left my home His memories are in my heart But I still feel all alone He was my companion Never left my side He was always there Whenever I laughed or cried Now there's no more barking When people knock the door No more tearing up the post Before its hit the floor No more running in the field Or walking in the park No more evening cuddles Or company after dark No more waiting for my dinner Turning his nose up at his own No more weeing on the carpet Whenever he's left alone No more lying on my lap Or jumping on the bed No more walking away Never doing what I said No more jumping up at friends Before they've even got through the door No matter what I'd say You wouldn't keep your feet on the floor No more tearing up the toilet roll Leaving me with none To you it was a game But to me it was no fun No more fighting with the hair brush Trying to keep you looking neat To look at the average poodle Billy could never compete There is no more moaning About the things you did wrong But with your charming smile I couldn't be cross for very long I will remember all the fun times We have had over the years The good and the bad times You licked away so many tears Your life was cut short I will never know why I was with you to the end So at least I said good bye To me you was the best And I loved you with all my heart Now that you have gone My worlds been torn apart But I know you are at rest And know your pain free My memories keep you alive You meant the world to me.
